Tis better to give

We attended three birthday parties this weekend, resulting in lots of hyper-activity and fun with friends. The final party was for one of our favorite little friends, but for Grant, who was feeling "fragile" as he approached naptime, it was hard to understand that the gifts were only for the birthday boy.

After some unsuccessful redirecting and reminding, I eventually carried him away from the present opening in tears. When we got upstairs he laid down and said "Me so tie-ward!" (tired). Sleepiness is usually the culprit. Still, it apparently broke Hope's soft heart to see him so upset. She gathered up some of the discarded wrapping paper and bows, brought them home, and asked if she could wrap up one of her books to give Grant.

She's awesome!

To top it off, she purposefully chose a book called Blue Barry Bear Counts to 20 because she knows Grant likes counting :)
