Grant is 2!

I should probably fasten my seat belt and start taking some vitamins ... because Grant is 2! Earlier today I wrote that I should have known when Grant was born upside-down (face up, that is) that he'd be a character. And he's been surprising me every day since then! But the best surprise of all is that two years ago I thought life couldn't get any sweeter, and it has :) Grant is my fireball, who keeps us laughing all the time, who challenges whatever parenting wisdom I might have, and who I just know is destined for great things.

We celebrated his birthday over the weekend with a fireman party. Grant loves wee-oos (firetrucks)!

All the kids suited up in fireman hats and badges, then went outside to stomp out the (bubble-wrap) fire on our patio. Grant was definitely into it more than any of the other kids. When they'd all moved on, he was still running around like crazy popping bubbles.

Next our brave firefighters equipped themselves with 'fire extinguishers' to put out the (chalk) fire on our back wall. They were all super cute!

Daddy lit the two candles on Grant's cake three times, giving him ample candle-blowing fun. And yesterday when I offered him a piece of the leftover cake he looked at it quizzically, pointed, and blew out an imaginary candle :)



We had such a fun time celebrating! Happy birthday Grant!
